The Rockland Nationals are pleased to announce that our captain, Yanic Crête has committed to U SPORTS University of Prince Edward Island for the 2023-24 season.
Crête a 2002 born L’Orignal, ON native joined the Rockland Nationals halfway into the 2021-2022 to finish off his final two seasons of his junior career. Yanic’s impressive resume involves playing 4 seasons of major junior for Ottawa 67s of the OHL and the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. Prior to his major junior career, Yanic also spent some time with the Hawkesbury Hawks where he played U18 AAA and started off his junior career. In 125 CCHL games played, Yanic scored 44 goals and 71 assists for a total of 115 points.
Crête is an all-around offensive threat. He specializes in generating offense off his puck carries. Whether it’s his snipe of a shot or playmaking capabilities, he finds a way to consistently create goal scoring opportunities for himself or his linemates. Away from the puck, Yanic is a strong player that isn’t shy to play physical, he’s competitive in his battles and dominates on faceoffs.

Crête (2002), un natif de L’Orignal (ON), a joint le National de Rockland à la mi-saison de 2021-2022 pour terminer ses deux dernières saisons de sa carrière en Junior A. Son impressionnant parcours inclut 4 saisons majeurs avec les 67s d’Ottawa (OHL) et les Saint John Sea Dogs de la LHJMQ. Précédemment, Yanic a joué avec les Hawks d’Hawkesbury au niveau U18 AAA et les débuts de sa carrière junior. En 125 matchs de la CCHL, Yanic a cumulé 44 buts et 71 mentions d’aides totalisant 115 points.
Crête est un joueur démontrant une menace offensive. Sa spécialité inclut de générer un maniement de rondelle offensif. Que ce soit une lancer bien ciblé ou sa capacité de faire des jeux stratégiques, il réussit à continuellement créer des occasions de marquer pour lui et ses alliés sur la glace. Yanic est un joueur fort qui n’a pas froid aux yeux quand il vient le temps de jouer un jeu robuste. Il est tout aussi compétitif dans ses batailles pour la rondelle et domine ses mises aux jeux.
Le National de Rockland souhaite à Yanic que le meilleur dans la poursuite de sa carrière d’hockeyeur et dans ses études à l’University de PEI.
