The Ontario Hockey League held their 2021 Priority Selection Draft this past weekend and three members of our Rockland Nationals U18 program were selected.
Defenseman Wyatt Kennedy was picked in the 3rd round (50th overall) by the North Bay Battalion. The Limoges ON native possesses great hands and a terrific skating stride. Wyatt was protected by the Nationals in the 2020 CCHL Bantam Draft.
Dylan McDougall was the next National selected as the Barrie Colts chose him in the 12th round (220nd overall). The Orleans ON native possesses a huge frame with terrific hands in tight. His offensive instincts are second to none. Dylan was a 4th round pick to Rockland in the 2020 CCHL Bantam Draft.
Not long after, forward Guillaume Labre of Rockland was selected by his hometown Ottawa 67’s in the 12th round (228th overall). The strong two-way forward plays a powerful game and likes to go to the net. He skates well and demonstrates great leadership. Guillaumes was protected by the Nationals in the 2020 CCHL Bantam Draft.
All three drafted players were previously members of the Eastern Ontario Wild in 2019-2020 prior to joining the Nats. Congrats Wyatt, Dylan and Guillaume!
La ligue de hockey de l’Ontario a conclu son repêchage annuel la fin de semaine dernière et trois membres de l’organisation des Nationals ont été sélectionnés.
Le défenseur Wyatt Kennedy de Limoges a été choisi par le Battalion de North Bay au 3e tour (50e au total). Le défenseur mobile a démontré un excellent coup de patin et une belle capacité à manier la rondelle. Wyatt avait été protégé par les Nationals en 2020 lors du repêchage annuel Bantam de la CCHL.
Le prochain joueur à être choisi est l’attaquant Dylan McDougall d’Orléans. Ce dernier a été sélectionné par les Colts de Barrie au 12e tour du repêchage (220e au total). Le joueur de grande taille possède de très bonnes mains. Ses instincts offensifs lui permettent de créer énormément d’opportunités à marquer. Dylan avait été sélectionné au 4e tour par les Nationals en 2020 lors du repêchage annuel Bantam de la CCHL.
Quelques instants plus tard, l’attaquant Guillaume Labre a été choisi par les 67s d’Ottawa au 12e tour (228e au total). Le natif de Rockland est un joueur imposant qui joue dans les deux sens de la patinoire. Il utilise sa vitesse et sa force pour bien pénétrer les endroits congestionnés. Il démontre un excellent sens du leadership. Guillaume avait été protégé par les Nationals en 2020 lors du repêchage annuel Bantam de la CCHL.
Les trois joueurs repêchés dans la LHO ont aussi évolué avec l’équipe du Eastern Ontario Wild en 2019-2020 avant de se joindre aux Nats. Félicitations Wyatt, Dylan et Guillaume!
