Matthew Vermaeten chipped in with 2 goals and David Lafrance had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first period, Halle opened the scoring for the Braves with a goal at 7:49 with helpers from his linemates, Faith and Gilmour. Lafrance quickly followed with a goal at 9:23 with assists from teammates Boyer and Norman.
In the second, Vermaeten deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:17 with helpers from Pruneau and Lafrance.
During the third, Vermaeten put in a goal at 3:02 with assists from his linemates, Scrivens and Pruneau. Boyer scored a goal at 16:19 with a helper from Craft.
The Nationals’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Martin’s big night as he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Martin’s counterpart, Bourdeau, also had a big night, managing to stop 38 of 42, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Rockland Nationals’ record to (1-1-0-0).
