Sean Blunden Joins the Nationals’ Coaching Staff

The Rockland Nationals are proud to announce the addition of Sean Blunden to our coaching staff.

“We are excited to have Sean on board. He has accomplished so much as a young head coach over the last 5 years. With his successful playing background as a defenseman and coaching experience, Sean was an easy choice to fill our vacant assistant coaching position.” – Charles Lavigne

For the last three years, Sean has served as Head Coach of the Navan Grads U18 program. Prior to that, he spent two years as Associate Coach & Head Coach for the Hawkesbury Hawks U18. Over that time, he coached an HEO Minor Midget All Start team at the Peterborough Petes, Clarkson Cup and Toronto Marlboros’ Tournaments, wining two of three. He was also nominated as U18 head Coach of the year twice (2018-19 & 2021-22).

As a player, Sean played 5 years in the CCHL. Spending most of his time with the Orleans Blues/Gloucester Rangers organization and finishing with the Cornwall Colts as an over-ager. During his 19-year-old season, he put up 54 points in 55 games (18 goals, 36 assists). He was also an OHL draft pick for the Owen Sound Attack. Sean then went on to play 4 more years at the U-Sport level for the Concordia University Stingers, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations.

“I am very excited to begin working with the Rockland Nationals and will look to help an already experienced staff bring a championship to Rockland. I would like to thank Marty Abram & Ryan Woodward (Navan Grads) for the past three years. They have played a big part in my growth as a coach and have helped guide me along the way.”

Welcome to Rockland, Sean!
